On Sunday, the Cottagers' season comes to an end against Manchester United.

On the final day of the season, as Fulham looks to set a new Premier League point record, Marco Silva believes that his attention is on the future with the Cottagers.

Silva previously stated that before starting negotiations for a new contract—his present one is slated to expire at the end of next season—he would have assurance that Fulham shares his aspirations.

However, the 45-year-old Portuguese, who has been linked to Al Ahli of Saudi Arabia, said he speaks with the club's management "every single day" to help Fulham advance.

Before the Sunday match against Manchester United, Silva said, "Normally I don't talk too much about the issue.

"But we're here, and I talk to people every single day to continue organizing and enhancing this football team to the best of our abilities, like we did from the very beginning.

"This is our top priority. The most important thing is that I am bound by a contract with this football team.

Whatever happens at Old Trafford, Fulham will finish in 10th place after being promoted from the Sky Bet Championship the previous season.

Since placing ninth in 2012, it will be their first top-half finish in the Premier League.

However, Fulham is motivated to surpass the 53 points they earned in the 2008–09 campaign under Roy Hodgson.

The most important factor, according to Silva, is that there are three points at stake.

"They (players) are aware of our expectations and standards from the very beginning.

"The points are still there and they are ours to fight for, even if we can't go for a difference in position right now."

Due to Fulham's good season, Silva has been added to a shortlist of six candidates for the managerial award alongside Pep Guardiola of Manchester City, Mikel Arteta of Arsenal, Roberto De Zerbi of Brighton, Eddie Howe of Newcastle, and Unai Emery of Aston Villa.

"These kinds of nominations make us all proud, but they are a result of the team's performance," Silva added.

"Despite having a name, it is a collective rather than an individual object.
