The Cherries are exempt from the decline, although at the beginning of April, they were among the worst three.
Gary O'Neil, the head coach of Bournemouth, believes Sunday's trip to relegation-threatened Everton can serve as a barometer for how his own team can develop ahead of the challenges that lie ahead in next season.
When the Cherries were positioned in the bottom three at the start of April, it appeared like maintaining their Premier League standing would be a difficult task.
But rookie manager O'Neil, who took over for Scott Parker after a 9-0 defeat to Liverpool on the road at the end of August, orchestrated a turnaround with a run of four victories in a row to escape the relegation zone.
Despite a stirring 4-1 home victory over Leeds coming after three consecutive losses, other outcomes meant Bournemouth's status was assured going into what is expected to be a tense final day of the survival battle.
O'Neil can confidently plan for next season as he attempts to keep his club moving forward, unlike Everton manager Sean Dyche, whose team is currently 17th and two points clear of the relegation zone.
O'Neil predicted that Everton would be blunt and that the environment would be hostile.
But what a wonderful chance for the players to go and demonstrate what a strong team we are and to see how well we can withstand the inquiries that will definitely be made of us.
"So (it is) a really good marker for me, with the last game of the season, heading into a summer break and then pre-season to just see where we are against what will be a really good test," said the player.
"I have not really been looking at any other part of the picture (in the league) other than our own," O'Neil said during a press conference.

I am aware of the circumstances concerning Everton, Leeds, and Leicester because we were involved in them for a significant portion of the season, but for the time being, the attention is only on us.
"We've been at 39 points for a long, and in the last three games, we've played to the best of our ability to add to that.
We simply want to show up as ourselves, perform well, and end the season on a high.
Philip Billing, a midfielder from Denmark, will be available for Bournemouth after missing the weekend's home loss to Manchester United due to a back injury.
