Bayern Munich coach Thomas Tuchel says this season has been a forgettable one for the Bavarian powerhouse, even if they can lead Borussia Dortmund to the Bundesliga title on Saturday.

Bayern are two points behind Dortmund on the final day of the season and need to beat Cologne and will hope Mainz get at least a draw against Dortmund if they are to extend their record of 10 consecutive German league titles.

"It's our fault, our responsibility," Tuchel said Friday. "Of course, we will try to race until the end because we have to give it all up until the end."

For the first time since 2012, Bayern faced the prospect of ending the season without a major trophy.

"This is not going to be a season we can be satisfied with. It will not be a season where the points will suffice for our requirements, where the quality of our game will suffice for us. Regardless of how it turns out in the end, it's not going to be a satisfying season anymore."

Tuchel took over as Julian Nagelsmann was sacked in March, when Bayern had just lost the top of the Bundesliga to Dortmund after a 1-2 defeat to Bayer Leverkusen.

Under Tuchel, Bayern were then knocked out of the German Cup and Champions League, while the Bundesliga lead changed three times before Dortmund regained the top spot last weekend after a 1-3 defeat. against Bayern at home against Leipzig.

We missed enough times, Tuchel said.
