Man Utd are about to enter a busy summer transfer window to improve Erik ten Hag's team.
Manchester United are set to sell Scott McTominay and Dean Henderson in a move that could make Ralf Rangnick and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer blush. The Red Devils are set to raise money for a big summer transfer window, with a striker and central midfielder very high on Erik ten Hag's agenda.
United need to raise funds to secure deals for Harry Kane and Mason Mount. Ten Hag may be forced to sell some of its fringe stars to fund the club's summer activities. McTominay and Henderson will both be on the radar. The Scottish midfielder has featured prominently under Ten Hag and former manager Rangnick but was linked with a move to Newcastle during the January transfer window.
Goalkeeper Henderson has spent this season at Nottingham Forest on loan. However, a thigh injury has kept the England star out of action since January.
Athletic claim two academy graduates could leave to fund a busy transfer window. It could make former bosses Rangnick and Solskjaer blush at the huge predictions they've made about the duo's careers at United.
At the end of Rangnick's woeful reign as caretaker manager last season, the German claimed McTominay could be the club's future captain at Old Trafford. "He's an academy boy, his energy is incredible," the Austrian head coach said of the midfielder.
"He's also starting to score goals and also has leadership skills. I wouldn't be surprised if in a few years he's captain of this team."
Meanwhile, Solskjaer insists Henderson will be United and England's number one goalkeeper for years to come. "This season turned out to be a great experience for him," Solskjaer said in 2020.

United are expected to target a midfielder and a striker as part of their summer transfer operation. The Chelsea Mount star is said to 'prefer' a move to Old Trafford, while United's sights on a striker include Napoli's Kane and Victor Osimhen.
