We will fight with our blood to keep Assin North seat for NDC -Prof Asiedu responds to NPP
Following the decision of the Supreme Court to order the Ghanaian parliament to remove the name of Mr. James Gyakye Quayson as the MP for Assin North Constituency, Central Regional chairman of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), Professor Richard Kofi Asiedu promised to reserve a seat for the party.
He promised that he and other party leaders who are with the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Assin North region will secure a major victory for the NDC in the coming local elections if the leader Parliament declares that it is an opportunity on the appointed day. for the vote
"We will fight with our blood to hold the Assin North regionalseat in the NDC elections," Prof.Kofi Asiedu revealed. “We want to make it known that the NPP will not be allowed to distributemoney and we will not be afraidof the power of the NPP;whether they are invisible people or whoever they are,but let us fight for our rights because it is against the electoral law of this country to make money," Professor Kofi Asiedu warned.
At a press conference organized by the NDC Central and Assin North Regional Executives before the Assin North election,he stressed, “If the NPP saysthey are prolonging what happened in Kumawu Constituency by disbursingmoney further the public andthe voters in the Central Region, specifically. Assin North Constituency we feel sorry for them because the NDC will not allow them to participate invoting”.
“If the NPP thinks they can do anything they want like what happened in Kumawu, they are kidding. They can take into account that they can make an ignorant person give you a vote without information, but in theCentral region, I want to make sure that it is where education started, and money will not move us." Prof. Kofi Asiedu revealed.
“People in the central regioncan analyze issues well before voting, so if the NPP affectsthem financially, we will affectthem with wise and wise words that will make them aware what they will vote for the progressof development since the NPP has not been waiting for a long time for development,” he stressed.
