2024: NDC will have no campaign message if Kumawu - MP-elect route is fixed
Ernest Yaw Anim, MP-elect for Kumawu Constituency in the Ashanti Region, has promised to retain his seat in the upcomingelection because he is confident that the government willcomplete all the road projects in the region through in 2024.
The government has announced that the Kumawu parliamentary seat is vacant by the speaker of the parliament, Rt Hon. Alban Sumana Kingsford Bagbin has startedconstruction work for roads and other works in Kumawu area.
Many, including leaders of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), have criticized the Akufo-Addo-led government,describing the move as a vote-buying scheme to win every seat. Speaking on Angel FM Kumasi in a subsequentinterview withMyNewsGH.com, MP-elect Mr. Yaw Anim revealed that withthe number of roadconstruction going on, he is optimistic that by 2024 all theroads that the government is working on will be completed.
According to him, if the construction work is completed successfully, there is no doubt that he will retain his seat as a Member of Parliament in the area. “As soon as the contractor will come in the next 14months, I will ensure that every village that will be built has its roads completed. I will speak to the Minister of Roads and Highways to ensure that all arrangements are made on theKumawu road properly," he stressed. He went on to promise that in the next 19months, he will focus on ensuring that the people of Kumawu also benefit from development.
“What I am saying is that God came down to us in Kumawu. He took care of us in a very special way. My concern which is my main headache is that we finish all our roads and if that happens, I don't think the NDC will have a message for the next election,” said Ernest Yaw Anim.
