Barcelona youngster will stay at the club if Atletico Madrid winger does not arrive .
Barcelona is looking to bolster their left-wing position during the upcoming summer transfer window, and Atletico Madrid winger Yannick Carrasco has emerged as their primary target for that role. In January, Barcelona sold Memphis Depay to Atletico Madrid but secured a purchase option for Carrasco at a price of 15 million. However, the club is now seeking to negotiate a lower fee with Atletico Madrid, as they are unwilling to meet the initial agreed-upon price.
According to RAC1, Barcelona will engage in discussions with Atletico Madrid in the coming weeks to try and secure Carrasco at a reduced fee. However, if they are unable to reach an agreement, Barcelona has an alternative plan in place. They would turn their attention to young talent Ez Abde to reinforce the left flank. Abde is currently on loan at Osasuna, where he has made a strong impression with his performances. He has contributed significantly to Osasuna's run to the Copa del Rey finals and their push for European qualification in La Liga, scoring six goals and providing two assists in 32 games this season.
Abde's performances have garnered attention from Barcelona and other clubs, with several teams already expressing interest in signing the 21-year-old Moroccan international in the summer. Barcelona has reportedly received a couple of offers for Abde, and they are open to his departure considering the potential revenue it could generate. If Carrasco does join Barcelona, it would further decrease Abde's chances of remaining at the club. However, if the Belgian winger does not arrive in the summer, Abde may end up staying with Barcelona.
The potential acquisition of Carrasco would provide Barcelona with the experienced winger they desire, adding depth and quality to their left-wing position. However, if negotiations with Atletico Madrid prove unsuccessful, Barcelona sees Abde as a promising alternative who has demonstrated his capabilities during his loan spell at Osasuna. The final outcome will depend on the negotiations between the clubs and the decisions made by Barcelona's management as they seek to strengthen their squad for the upcoming season.
