Meet the four BNP flag bearerswho won their election on the first day 


The New Patriotic Party opens applications for the next flag bearer competition on Friday, May 26, 2023.

At the end of the day, the four candidates return their nomination forms properly. Boakye Agyarko 

Former Power Minister Boakye Agyarko was the first to collectnomination forms for the party's primary election. 

Members
 led by Benjamin Ashitey Armah collected the forms on behalf of the presidential hopeful at the party headquarters in Accra on Friday, May 26, 2023. Before collecting nomination forms, Boakye Agyarko had alreadymet with all the regional party leaders during his tour.



According to Amarh, thespokesperson of Mr Agyarko's media, the former minister isthe party's best candidate to retain power in 2024. He described Mr. Agyarko as the "engine" of public policy in the NPP, saying he would give hope to ordinary Ghanaians if allowed. 

Kofi Konadu Apraku 

Dr.
 Kofi Konadu Apraku who is seeking his nomination process has his members collect his nomination form on his behalf. Apraku is a Ghanaian politician, economist, business magnate, ambassador and member of the 2nd, 3rd and 4th Parliament of the 4th Republic of Ghana. 

Dr
 Apraku is the Member of Parliament for Offinso North Constituency in the 4th House of Parliament of the Republic of Ghana. Under the leadership ofJohn Agyekum Kufuor, Dr. Apraku served in various government positions. He wasMinister of Trade and Industry and Minister of Regional Relations in NEPAD between 2003 and 2005. He served asthe chairman of the ECOWAS Council of Ministers, a bodythat includes ministers responsible for integration, finance and trade. He was the Governor of the ECOWAS Bank for Investment and Development (EBID) from 2003 to 2006. After securing his nomination on Friday, members of Dr Kofi Konadu Apraku said the NPP in Ghana needs a leader with political experience and economic power to turn the country around. 

Mr. Kwame Obiri Nkansah, Director of Communications,Friends of Apraku, who raisedthe forms, said, “We need to go back to the basics if we are to overcome this economic crisis. Going back to basics means growing what we eat and producing what we wear, and that's what Dr. Kofi Konadu Apraku." 

Francois Adai-Nimoh
 

Another NPP candidate Francis Addi-Nimoh also had hisnomination form on Friday.



Addi-Nimoh
 is an NPP leader who has represented the party in Parliament in the past. Addai-Nimoh was the MP for Mampong between 2008 and 2016. He participated in the NPP presidential primaries in 2014, where he lost. KwabenaAgyei Agyepong 

Former NPP Secretary General Kwabena Agyei Agyepong has won the election to run for office in the flag bearer contest. 

After attaining the position of Secretary General in 2015, Kwabena Agyepong and other foreign party leaders were expelled from their positions and terminated because they opposed the party leader, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo. Hissuspension was lifted when aparty won the presidential elections in 2016 and 2020. 



Meanwhile, it is expected thatother prominent people such as the vice president Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, Central MP for Assin Kennedy Ohene Agyapong, former Minister of Commerce Alan Kyerematenand former Minister of Agriculture Dr. Owusu Afriyie-Akoto are expected to taketheir nominations in the coming days.
