Prophet Prof. Onyinah 'jabs'Ablakwa on National Cathedral talk
The Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the National Cathedral of Ghana, Apostle Prof. Opoku Onyinah, condemned the North Tongu MP for his alleged corruption in the construction of the cathedral.
Teacher. Onyinah said that if Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa really has evidence of corruption in this project, he should use appropriate means to arrest the victims.
He added that he (the parliamentarian) should stop using the issues surrounding the cathedral to gain reputation. Speaking in an interview on Okay FM, Friday, May 27, 2023, followed by GhanaWeb, the former president of the Church of Pentecost also said that he and other pastors are still part of the project because there is no anything is wrong.
“What people are saying is not true. Because we admins have not seen any corruption in the project... we have now hired a well-known publishing company, Deloitte, to reviewour documents, so we are not afraid of anything.
But what we are asking is that we have laws in this country, and if something is wrong, you must make laws. Therefore, if someone has actually stolen the money intended for the project, he will be arrested and prosecuted.
"If something is really happening, don't just post it to be famous. These words should not be used to compete for popularity, make them legal," he told Twi when asked about Alkwa's allegations.
The priests also said that the Ghana National Cathedral will be the face of Christianity in Africa. Background:
Ablakwa, in his latest conversation with the National Cathedral, alleged that the US Cathedral's official in the country gave the official address leading to the warehouse.
He said that when he visited the factory on his tour, he saw no company but: "a dilapidatedwarehouse with the inscription: Churchill Coffee Company, Wholesale Division."
"We also decided to start a long journey to Springfield, Missouri where Mr. Cary Lee Summers, who received $6 million of our money, is described on the website of the Ghana National Cathedral as "Advisor for the United States". "When we arrived at this address, there was nothing at the Nehemiah Group. We found a collapsedwarehouse that read: Churchill Coffee Company, Wholesale Division," he added. The MP also said that Eric Okyere Darko, a member of the Legislative Council of Assin Central MP Kennedy Agyapong, is on the list of administrators of the registration form at theNational Cathedral of Ghana in Washington DC in the United States.
The lawmaker said on his social media that according to his observations, the registration details for this job in Ghana are different from the one he got inthe United States. Also, although prominent priests dominate the registration board in Ghana, in the case of the United States, there arethree people.
The only person on both sides is Dr. Paul Opoku-Mensah, General Secretary of the GhanaNational Cathedral Service.
