In their quest for a treble, Manchester City will play in the FA Cup and Champions League finals back-to-back weeks.

Pep Guardiola acknowledges that the first of Manchester City's two forthcoming finals is already on his mind.

Next week, the treble-chasing City will compete in the FA Cup final at Wembley against archrivals Manchester United before traveling to Istanbul for the Champions League final against Inter Milan.

The freshly crowned champions must first finish their Premier League campaign at Brentford on Sunday, but Guardiola acknowledges he is thinking ahead because little depends on the result at the Gtech Community Stadium.

While the United match is beginning to take center stage in the City manager's thoughts, the Inter game may still be lingering in the back of his mind for the time being.

"I would say I saw a little bit of Inter last week but not this week," stated Guardiola. I'm currently more concerned about United.I watched their matchup with Chelsea. I was astonished, and I've begun to consider what they did to us during the game at Old Trafford.

"We must exercise caution, just as in the past. I would exercise caution regardless, but after Thursday and their most recent games, we will do everything in our power to be ready.

This weekend will be a balancing act for Guardiola. Prior to the finals, he may want to relax some players, but he also believes it's critical for other players to keep their focus.

Despite not being declared fully healthy, major guns like Jack Grealish, Aymeric Laporte, Ruben Dias, and Manuel Akanji were not risked against Brighton in midweek. Rodri, Bernardo Silva, Kevin De Bruyne, and Erling Haaland were all present.

In order to participate in the finals, Guardiola said: "Hopefully, Brentford will help us to maintain this rhythm. Brighton helped us to maintain the level."Although we require it, it's crucial to have people who are prepared and in top shape by the last week before the competition.

"The Brentford match will be very different from the Brighton match. I am aware that it has no bearing on the points, but they will exert pressure on us to continue the strenuous effort. It will be really challenging.
