Manchester City march to the Gtech Community Stadium on the final day of the Premier League season with Ben Mee's side hoping to secure a spot in the European Cup.

Ben Mee says Brentford will do his best to qualify for the Europa Conference League when they face Manchester City on Sunday.

The Bees are competing in Europe next season. The London team is currently 9th on the table with 56 points to enter the final day of the Premier League season.

City have won the top flight and have nothing left to play for Pep Guardiola's side, despite two important matches to come. City will face Manchester United in the FA Cup final before meeting Inter Milan in the Champions League final in Istanbul. Brentford is two points behind Aston Villa, who are ranked seventh, and the two teams are clamping Tottenham Hotspur in eighth place. Brentford will need to take three points against Man City and hope results elsewhere will be favorable to have a chance to qualify for next season's European Cup.

And Mee, who passed through Man City's youth team, believes the Bees will do whatever it takes to finish in seventh place against his old side. He is delighted that City have won the title and believes Sunday afternoon's encounter will be competitive.

I said:

“For us, we have the opportunity to go to Europe. We could finish in seventh if the results suit us, so obviously we'll be looking forward to going there and want to win the last game for us and I'm sure City will also want to do that and end a really good season for them on a high as well as for their traveling fans.

"It's going to be a competitive game, it's not going to be an end-of-season game. It will be competitive and hopefully a good match.
