According to sources, Real Madrid and Borussia Dortmund midfielder Jude Bellingham are nearing an agreement on the parameters of a summer transfer.

Over the past year, Bellingham has been pursued by the majority of Europe's elite, but Real stepped ahead of the competition when they reached a personal terms agreement with the 19-year-old last month.

Bellingham has agreed to the details of a six-year contract at Madrid that will have a �1 billion release clause. His preference is to join Real this summer.

The only thing left was for the two parties to agree on a transfer cost. The desire of Real to match Dortmund's long-stated asking price of roughly �150 million to part ways with Bellingham has now been verified by sources, according to 90min.

Real and Dortmund have reached an agreement on the terms of a transaction worth an initial �100 million, plus an additional �50 million in add-ons, to get the transfer closer to completion, during meetings this week in Germany.

There are media reports that Dortmund insisted on a cash-only bid, despite Real's attempts to reduce their asking price by include a number of players, either on permanent or loan agreements.

However, Dortmund have not yet ruled out the possibility of going back to Real for prospective summer acquisitions of their own; any such moves, however, would not affect Bellingham's projected transfer to the Santiago Bernabeu.

Real has postponed making an official announcement in honor of Dortmund's bid for the Bundesliga championship. On the last day of the season, when Edin Terzic's team plays Mainz, they are in first place and need to match Bayern Munich's victory over Koln if they want to win the trophy.

Real will move on with their plans to complete Bellingham's entrance once that game is over, and the Spanish team is hopeful that a deal may be announced next week.
