A Twitter user identified as @drewsilluhh is currently receiving serious backlashes over a tweet she made. According to the Twitter user, she is not going to medical school for 8 years and graduates to come and submit to a man to talk more about taking his surname. She further added that as long she lives it is not happening to her and she can't think for others, but for her, it's not happening.
“going to medical school for 8 years, residency for about 6 years, and you choose to take your husband's last name?????”.
“it’s just not happening”
Her assertions got most users offended and they took to the comments section to vent out their dissatisfaction, a few of them are highlighted below;

“Idk why Black women be yapping and complaining
about marriage, the majority of y'all are not even going
to get married and the rest that do will just end up in
divorce”.
@JKoolOffdathi.….
“So just be single because those accomplishments
will mean more to you than the marriage anyway
smh”.

“This is a personal decision and varies from
individual to individual. For some people, keeping their maiden name represents their identity and
achievements, while for others, taking their spouse's last name might be a symbol of their commitment or a cultural tradition they want to uphold. It's important to remember that name changes, or lack thereof, do not negate someone's professional accomplishments or qualifications. Everyone has the right to make personal decisions that suit them the best, including choosing to
change or not change their last name after marriage.
The key is ensuring that these decisions are respected and understood by others. After all, what matters the most in a career like medicine is the competence and care a person provides, not their surname”.

“Oh, when a wife takes her husband's name, her past
achievements and feats erase immediately. Wow. I
didn't know oh. Feminism: It's about women's choice.
Still feminism: How dare you make such a choice as a
woman. Jokers. And it's usually the agonizingly single ones”.

“My gf and I are finishing up Med school. I think she
wants to keep her last name or hyphen it. I'm cool
with that, but I told her, our kids will just have my
last name. I can not compromise that”.
