Chelsea won the Women's Super League by a score of 3-0 over Reading at Select Car Leasing Stadium, marking their fourth consecutive championship.

Following their victory over Manchester United in the FA Cup final earlier this month, Chelsea completed the double by defeating Reading in a rout behind goals from Sam Kerr and Guro Reiten.

The Blues' recent supremacy was evident as their opponents struggled to contain Emma Hayes' team, who concluded the 2022–23 season with victory and a seven-game league winning streak.

Early on, Chelsea had a chance to take the lead through Kerr's squandered opportunity, but goalkeeper Grace Moloney made a terrific save by tipping Erin Cuthbert's shot onto the crossbar.

However, Kerr made the breakthrough in the 18th minute when she took advantage of a beautiful pocket of space inside the box to head Reiten's cross past Moloney to score it 1-0.

After 42 minutes, Reiten became the game's first scorer when she pounced on a lost ball in the Reading defense to go one-on-one with Moloney and held her cool to deliver a calm finish that gave Chelsea a 2-0 lead.

The restraints were removed for Chelsea, who began the second half with the security of a two-goal advantage while taking advantage of extended stretches of possession to further ruin Reading's miserable season.

The Champions then started to apply more pressure through Kerr, Reiten, and Lauren James, who relentlessly attacked the Reading defense in an effort to score another goal but were let down by their adversary's tenacious low block to preserve the score at 2-0.

However, Kerr's efforts were rewarded in the 88th minute. The Australia captain was given a clear shot at goal and her initial effort hit the post, but she was quick to react and claimed a straightforward tap-in to seal a well-earned Chelsea victory.
