HOW REAL MADRID COULD LINE-UP IN 2024 AFTER KYLIAN MBAPPE TRANSFER WITH NEW-LOOK XI-TRENDING

France international Kylian Mbappe has a clause in his Paris Saint-Germain contract that allows him to leave the French capital on a free transfer next summer.

Mbappe, 24, signed a new three-year contract with PSG just a year ago but the final season of that contract is optional. The striker could therefore leave the French capital on a free transfer next summer with Real considered his preferred destination.

The Spanish giants attempted to sign Mbappe in August 2021 - when a £154m bid was rejected - and was released on a free transfer last summer. The World Cup winner has been persuaded to hand his near future to PSG, but it appears he is rethinking his options. As L'Equipe reports, Mbappe has little interest in activating this extension in his contract. This could force PSG to negotiate another deal with the player or sell him this summer, although both options can be difficult.

Most of Europe's top clubs will struggle to find the money to sign Mbappe this summer, including Real. It is also debated whether Carlo Ancelotti's army really needs to recruit Mbappe immediately when Karim Benzema is still showing good form.

Benzema, 35, has scored 30 goals for Real this season and is set to sign a new one-year contract to keep him at the Bernabeu until June 2024 when Mbappe can play. Most likely Mbappe will be Benzema's long-term successor.

If Real wait until next summer to sign Mbappe, that will free up their transfer budget to sign Jude Bellingham. The 19-year-old England international is considered one of the best young midfielders in the world after impressing for Borussia Dortmund.

Bellingham was denied its first league title on Saturday after Dortmund squandered a golden opportunity to win the Bundesliga. They were expected to beat Mainz in the final of the season, but a 2-2 draw helped Bayern Munich win their 11th championship in a row.

Bellingham will be a big blow to Real, when Luke Modric is nearing the end of his illustrious career. The aging Real midfielder was evident in the recent 0-4 loss to Manchester City, in which 37-year-old Modric and 33-year-old Toni Kroos struggled to keep up.

But Real could have the most interesting young midfielder in Europe if he lands at Bellingham. They already have French duo Aurelien Tchouameni, 23, Eduardo Camavinga, 20. He can also play at left-back.

Federico Valverde, Vinicius Junior and Rodrygo are still at their peak and could pair Mbappe up front if the Frenchman takes a shot. Meanwhile, Eder Militao and David Alaba will continue to work together at the heart of Real's defence.

The left-back area is a concern for Real when Antonio Rudiger is often substituted. At just 31 years old, Dani Carvajal will remain the club's number one right-back for some time to come, while the same can happen at world class. goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois.
