Kwabena Agyei Agyepong, a candidate for the New Patriotic Party's (NPP) flagbearer post, has made a big advancement in his campaign by gathering nomination papers for the party's presidential primary.
This event, which will take place on Friday, May 26, 2023, will formally confirm his desire to run in the primary elections.
Agyepong, a former general secretary of the NPP, sees this accomplishment as the start of an exciting path.
He emphasises the restoration of principles like service, sacrifice, and selflessness, which he refers to as the Triple S Doctrine, in an effort to usher in "a new dawn" in Ghana's political environment.
Ing. Agyepong vowed to decrease waste by developing a lean, effective, and efficient government structure that is capable of bringing about significant growth as he passionately declared his intention to reform the nation.
He counselled NPP delegates to choose wisely, choosing visionary leaders with ground-breaking concepts and a distinct vision for the future of the country.
Furthermore, he pleaded with the delegates to have faith in his ability and will to implement the required steps, even if they were challenging, to stop Ghana's economic collapse. He advised them to turn down any financial or material inducements and to refuse to compromise their destiny for paltry gifts. Agyepong emphasised the critical necessity of injecting depth and authenticity into the nation's political system.
Speaking to his fellow flagbearer contenders, he demanded an open discussion, stressing that Ghanaians deserved the chance to examine and comprehend each candidate's viewpoints, policy objectives, temperament, and character. According to him, individuals who want to govern Ghana should humbly submit to the public interest.
Agyepong expressed trust in the National Executives and Elders of the NPP, saying he knows they will make sure the next Presidential Primaries are handled properly and equitably, free from pressure, manipulation, and favouritism, and in strict accordance with the party's Code of Conduct.
He exhorted party members to preserve democracy and transparency with steadfastness and to live up to the party's beliefs.
