This season, Roberto De Zerbi has been a revelation for Brighton, and CEO Paul Barber has been gushing over the Italian's accomplishments.

Paul Barber, the chief executive of Brighton and Hove Albion, praised "phenomenal" manager Roberto De Zerbi for guiding the Seagulls to Europa League qualification.

Following a very outstanding sixth-place finish in the Premier League, Brighton will play on the continent for the first time in their history in the upcoming campaign.

Since Graham Potter's transfer to Chelsea, who then fired the coach after just under seven months in command at Stamford Bridge, De Zerbi has been a revelation for the Amex Stadium.

The Italian, who also led Brighton to the FA Cup semifinals where they lost to Manchester United on penalties at Wembley Stadium, has received high acclaim from Barber.

At the Football Business Awards, the Seagulls' CEO told Stats Perform, "He's been phenomenal."

He is making his professional debut in the Premier League. He had to pick up the English language, adjust to living in England, study a new league, and work with new players. We're happy for him and think he did a great job.

"We've made it to European football for the first time in 122 years. We're happy for the players and coaches because it's a tremendous accomplishment. Additionally, I believe it's a fantastic chance for the supporters to support their team in a brand-new tournament.

Leandro Trossard, a crucial forward, left Brighton for Arsenal during the January transfer window, so things were not all smooth sailing for Brighton.

Although he accepts that additional players may go, Barber said that the club was ready for any potential setbacks and that selling the team was not necessary.

The most important item, according to him, has been succession planning. Should key club roles become vacant, we have a strategy in place. "I believe that's crucial if you want to keep moving forward.

"We are blessed to have such a great owner. We have excellent infrastructure, sell out every one of our games, and make a lot of money from sponsorships, hospitality, and non-matchday work. Therefore, it is not necessary.
