If Leicester manager Dean Smith can lead his team to Premier League safety on Sunday, he will have accomplished a "big ask."
If the Foxes are to stay out of the Championship, they must defeat West Ham at the King Power Stadium and hope that Everton loses to Bournemouth.
Following Brendan Rodgers' dismissal at the beginning of April, Smith was parachuted into an eight-game SOS mission. However, he has only managed one victory in his first seven games and admits that his team hasn't performed as well as he had anticipated.
The 52-year-old has experience orchestrating amazing escapes after leading Aston Villa to seven points from their final four games of the 2019–20 season to avoid relegation, and he claims that a similar feat would be necessary in this case.
When you first start out, you look at the games. Smith said: "I looked at Man City, Liverpool, and Newcastle and knew they were going to be difficult to get points out of. With the probable exception of Liverpool, I anticipated that we would win our home games and pick up points away from home.
"It has come down to the last one because we are a few points behind where I thought we would be.
"If we succeed, it would be a really proud day for us, but first we must win our game and rely on other outcomes. Each victory will have advantages of its own; the Villa victory with four games remaining was worth seven points. That was a hefty ask in and of itself, and we're hoping we can pull it off.
Leicester was winning the FA Cup and competing for Champions League qualifying just two years ago, but they have fallen down swiftly after being forced to balance their books in the league.
And Smith claims that demonstrates how challenging the league can be for players outside of the conventional "big six."
