NKUNKU SENDS RB LEIPZIG MESSAGE AS POCHETTINO WAITS ON CHELSEA TRANSFER

Todd Boehly has already signed his first player for Chelsea ahead of the upcoming season, which will please manager Mauricio Pochettino as Chelsea is expected to have a busy summer transfer window.


Nkunku's arrival may help Chelsea's goal-scoring issues, as Kai Havertz and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang have both struggled with consistency in scoring this season. The former Paris Saint-Germain forward has demonstrated in Germany that he can consistently score goals, and Pochettino will be eager to work with the gifted Frenchman as he attempts to rebuild the team in preparation for the upcoming season.

Nkunku thanked fans in a statement after his final Bundesliga match for Leipzig in advance of the DFB-Pokal final the following weekend. On Saturday, June 3, Leipzig will play Eintracht Frankfurt; this will be Nkunku's penultimate match for the German team before he completes a rumoured £52 million transfer to Stamford Bridge.

This summer, Pochettino is rumoured to want another striker, possibly in addition to Nkunku. Romelu Lukaku is expected to return to Stamford Bridge this summer, but it is unknown if Chelsea would pursue a permanent or loan transfer for Joao Felix in the upcoming campaign.

Granit Xhaka has dropped a major hint that Sunday afternoon's clash against Wolves will be his final game for Arsenal. football.london understands that the Switzerland international is in advanced talks to complete a summer to Bayer Leverkusen in a £13million deal after spending seven years at the club.

The 30-year-old has helped the Gunners enjoy a scintillating season with his contributions from midfield proving extremely valuable. From 46 appearances, Xhaka has scored seven goals and grabbed seven assists missing just one Premier League game in the 2022/23 campaign.

Ahead the final day fixture against Wolves, Xhaka to posted a matchday graphic on Instagram, but after looking closer at the contents of the post, it could well be a farewell message.

At the very bottom of the post, it says "thank you Gunners" with his trophies, two community shields and two FA cups, won at the club located either side of that message.

When asked for the latest update on Xhaka's future, Mikel Arteta replied: "No. I cannot talk and I won’t talk about any future of any players or members of staff. We have to wrap up the season, do what we have to do and then we still start to plan the following season."

It is very likely that Arteta rings the changes for Sunday afternoon's clash with Bukayo Saka, Leandro Trossard and Reiss Nelson all doubts. Xhaka is expected to start in midfield though as usual for the what looks to be the final time in an Arsenal shirt and he is sure to get a terrific send off from supporters.
