Only one week left until the end of the 2022/2023 Premier League season. Manchester City, Arsenal, Newcastle United and Manchester United are the clubs that qualified for the UEFA Champions League while Brighton and Liverpool qualified for the Europa League.

At the end of each season, clubs that finish in the last 3 places are always relegated. Currently, Southampton is the only club to be relegated from the Premier League.

The current focus is on the 2023/2024 Premier League season which will start on August 12, 2023 and end on May 19, 2024. The 3 clubs that will join the Premier League from the Championship have been confirmed.

Burnley won the national championship 2022/2023 with 101 points to win direct access to the Premier League while Sheffield United finished second with 91 points.

Luton Town won 5-6 against Coventry City in the final penalty shootout of Championship qualifying to qualify for next season's UEFA Champions League. That was after the match ended with a score of 1-1.

All Premier League managers - with the exception of Manchester City's Pep Guardiola, Manchester United's Erik ten Hag and West Ham's David Moyes - will now look to sign new players.

The Premier League season has come to an end, which means the transfer window is getting closer.

Recruiting teams from Manchester United, Chelsea, Tottenham, Liverpool and Arsenal will tap the new talent market, hoping to close the gap between them and Manchester City. Pep Guardiola's side recently won their fifth Premier League title in six seasons... and it's unclear who will stop the treble hunters next season.

Clubs will also prepare for an eternal battle for relegation, including Burnley, Sheffield United and Luton after the trio are promoted from the Championship. With that in mind, here's everything you need to know about the summer transfer window.

When does the summer transfer window open?

The Premier League transfer market will officially open on Wednesday, June 14.

The English Football League (EFL) window will open on the same day.

Although this is an official date, there is nothing stopping clubs from agreeing to a transfer before the window opens. That's why many critics believe the market heats up towards the end of the season, as it allows managers to spend more time on transfers.

Although the domestic market opens on June 14, clubs will not be able to sign foreign players until the international market opens on Saturday, July 1. That didn't disappoint the managers too much, with pre-season tours and friendlies not starting until July.

The La Liga, Serie A and Bundesliga windows will also open on July 1.

The transfer window will remain open until 11pm on Friday, September 1.

Meanwhile, the winter window will open on Monday, January 1 before closing at 11 p.m. on Thursday, February 1.

What are the big transfer stories?

As always, the next few months will be dominated by transfer stories. Man Utd will be looking for a new striker, with Erik ten Hag still looking to replace Cristiano Ronaldo. Wout Weghorst is set to return to Burnley when his loan deal expires next month.

Harry Kane is believed to be United's first choice target, but Tottenham chief Daniel Levy is a tough negotiator and will not give up the club's valuable asset without going to war. Players like Victor Osimhen, Goncalo Ramos and Rasmus Hojlund are also on Man Utd's shortlist.

Declan Rice is one of the most sought after players in the Premier League, Arsenal are leading the race to sign the West Ham captain. Rice's England team-mate Jude Bellingham could also switch from Borussia Dortmund to Real Madrid. Chelsea are expected to let a number of players leave Stamford Bridge this summer, with Mason Mount and Conor Gallagher tipped to leave. It is believed that Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp will be interested in signing these two stars to bolster his midfield options.

Another hot topic is the future of Alexis Mac Allister, with Liverpool pursuing the signing of the World Cup champions. Brighton would do well to keep Mac Allister and fellow midfielder Moises Caicedo, who has become one of the stars of the Premier League this season.
