Exclusive: Wolves willing to accept 50m bid after Liverpool move.

Wolves set to accept 50m Ruben Neves bid after Liverpool make move - sources.

Sources indicate that Wolves are prepared to accept a bid of 50 million for Ruben Neves following interest from Liverpool. Football Insider has learned that Liverpool has expressed their desire to be kept informed of any developments in the race to sign the Wolves midfielder. Neves, who is 26 years old, has made up his mind to leave the Molineux club during the upcoming summer transfer window and has already bid an emotional farewell to the fans.

Liverpool's interest in Neves has been ongoing, as they previously made an inquiry in January that was rejected by Wolves, who were unwilling to sell during the mid-season. However, it is expected that the Midlands club will be open to cashing in on their captain if a suitable offer of 50 million is tabled.

Spanish reports have hinted at a verbal agreement between Neves and Barcelona, but Liverpool remains vigilant and will continue monitoring the situation. Neves is represented by Gestifute, the agency led by influential super agent Jorge Mendes, who also represents current Liverpool players Darwin Nunez, Diogo Jota, and Fabinho.

With just over a year remaining on his Wolves contract, there is a risk of Neves leaving the club for free if a deal is not reached this summer. The midfielder has been a pivotal figure, featuring in 40 matches across various competitions in the 2022-23 season, scoring six goals and providing one assist. Since joining Wolves from the Championship in 2017, Neves has accumulated a total of 252 appearances, contributing 30 goals and 13 assists.

Liverpool, having missed out on a top-four finish to Manchester United and Newcastle, will be competing in the Europa League in the upcoming 2023-24 campaign. Consequently, manager Jurgen Klopp's side is planning a significant midfield overhaul, with the departures of James Milner, Naby Keita, and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain already confirmed.
