Liverpool's squad could look very different next season as they look to return to the top of the Premier League.
It's no secret that Liverpool needed changes this summer and Jurgen Klopp had to say goodbye to Roberto Firmino, James Milner, Naby Keita and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, the quartet leaving as players on their own. do. They will need to be replaced but others can join them at Anfield. Express Sport take a look at what Liverpool's squad could look like ahead of next season's opener.
It seems increasingly likely that Liverpool will allow Caoimhin Kelleher to leave this summer as the talented goalkeeper is looking for a starting place elsewhere. Clubs will still have to meet Liverpool's asking price and, if that happens, there will be substitutions.
Young Dutch goalkeeper Bart Verbruggen has been heavily linked with a move to Merseyside and he could be the perfect target to become Alisson's student.
Defender:
Alexander-Arnold, Ramsey, Van Dijk, Konaté, Matip, Gomez, COLWILL, Robertson, Tsimikas
Liverpool have fallen short of their best defense this season and that's something Klopp will want to fix immediately. Keeping everyone healthy will be key, but it looks like another central defender will be signed.

Chelsea star Levi Colwill appears to be Liverpool's main target, although the west London side could face difficulties in negotiations. Liverpool are likely hoping they can also offload Nathaniel Phillips, who has failed to regularly make it into Klopp's squad.
Midfielder:
Thiago, Bajcetic, Henderson, Jones, Fabinho, Elliott, BARELLA, MAC ALLISTER
Obviously midfield is the area that needs the biggest changes with two signings considered the minimum. It could look like a new signing early next season with Stefan Bajcetic expected to return from pre-season injury.
But it will also require spending money with Alexis Mac Allister seen as the most likely signing at the start of the transfer window. Mason Mount has also been heavily linked, but Inter Milan's Nicolo Barella is believed to be a better fit for Klopp's side and will bring something different.
The attacker:
Salah, Nunez, Gakpo, Jota, Diaz
Part of the reason for Firmino's departure is that Liverpool's attack is now in depth following the arrival of Cody Gakpo in January. Fabio Carvalho may have to go on loan to gain experience when preparing for the big battle to be able to play more next year.
The problem for Klopp will be keeping all of his strikers happy with Luis Diaz, Gakpo, Diogo Jota, Mohamed Salah and Darwin Nunez all having trouble starting. But that is the kind of headache the Liverpool boss will want in his squad by having a range of options to choose from.
