Chelsea took aim at Leeds after their social media account posted a message from August.
Chelsea took aim at Leeds with a brutal social media post after Los Blancos were relegated from the Premier League. The Blues reviewed a post from August in which Leeds celebrate a 3-0 win over the West Londoners.
Leeds have dropped to the Championship following a 4-1 loss to Tottenham on Sunday. Sam Allardyce's side were tipped to win and expect Leicester and Everton to both lose - but their two relegation rivals triumphed in a dramatic final day, with Leicester alongside Leeds being relegated. Chelsea, whose campaign has been disappointing, can't help but laugh at Leeds' decline. They retweeted a tweet from August mocking their opponents' relegation.
The Blues suffered a heavy defeat at Elland Road at the start of the season. During the game, Chelsea tweeted that their team had "starting to assert themselves" moments before Leeds scored two early goals. At the time, Leeds captured the first tweet and text from Chelsea confirming goals from Brenden Aaronson and Rodrigo with the caption:
"Life comes to you quickly."
But after Leeds confirmed relegation on Sunday, Chelsea tweeted Leeds' post with a savage response:
"Certainly so."

Victory over Chelsea was one of the few highlights of Leeds' season. Jesse Marsch was sacked in February and American replacement Javi Gracia has made just 11 Premier League appearances. Allardyce had the last four games to save the Yorkshire-based team from falling, but ultimately failed.
Chelsea have had a bad season and many can see the irony in Leeds' social media takedown. The Blues fired Thomas Tuchel shortly after his visit to Elland Road and Graham Potter lasted only six months before facing the ax of public opinion. The West Londoners have spent £600m on new players since being taken over by Boehly-Clearlake consortium 12 months ago and have a dismal 12th place showing their lavish spending. Interim manager Frank Lampard has managed just one win in his 11 matches.

Lampard tore through the core of the Blues after a 1-1 draw with Newcastle. "The collective standards have dropped. I can honestly say that now that this is my last game, I may not see some of them much more," he said. "The collective standards for a club like Chelsea have to be at the maximum or else you won't be competitive enough, or you won't be able to play at a high level. If you're not together in the locker room clothes, and you won't "You don't speak up in the dressing room, you drive yourself and compete because I want your place and you want my place. Any top team has to have that.
Mauricio Pochettino is set to become the new Chelsea manager. The former Tottenham manager became the lead after a thorough recruitment process led by Todd Boehly and other American co-owners.
