Did you know it is not only cheap teams that get relegated from a league? Sometimes it might be some mechanism that didn't go well. Football, or soccer, is now one of the most lucrative sports on earth, and what goes into it is more than what we see on the playing field. Most people think football is only played on the pitch, but there is more.

We all know that buying expensive players does not mean you can win the league, the Champions League, or other tournaments easily. It has happened to many clubs, and a typical example is PSG. They have managed to buy any talented, quality, and expensive player that will pop on their radar, yet they haven't won the elusive Champions League. Manchester City tried many times before getting to two finals.

Chelsea recently suffered the same fate. They have one of the most expensive squads in the league and in Europe, but they couldn't finish in the top four this season. It is not always about money and buying expensive players; it is the mentality of the team that counts. Sometimes a coach can make a team worse, which is why in football, they don't sack players but coaches. A coach is the one who makes a team, that is why they are called managers. They manage the squad both on and off the field. So when the team doesn't perform, the coach is to blame, not the players.

The most expensive team to be relegated from the EPL

Those EPL teams that were relegated yesterday were Southampton, Leeds, and Leicester City. Among them, Leicester City is the team with the most experienced squad to be relegated. Though Leeds and Southampton too don't have a cheap squad, according to players wages and their worth in the market, Leicester rank first.

They moved from Premier League champions in the 2015/2016 season to being relegated to the championship. Leicester's wage bill stands at a whopping 180 million pounds. This made them the team with the highest wage bill outside the top six teams. According to their website, James Madison, Ricardo Pereira, and Jamie Vardy are the players with the most expensive salaries, earning 100,000 pounds a week.

The relegation will also trigger Leicester's income to reduce, they were making 214 million pounds, but dropping to the championship will see their income reduce to 70 million pounds. The reason they will lose that amount of money is because of the loan they took from an Austrian bank to be paid from tier match broadcasting coverage and player amortization.

James Madison and Harvey Barnes are rated at around 60 million pounds. Wilfred Inidi is rated at 32 million pounds. The Belgian international Youri Teliemans is said to be valued at around 40 to 45 million pounds, and Arsenal and Newcastle are ready to battle for his signature.

Dewsbury Hall is valued at around 25 to 35 million pounds, and Boubakare Soumare is expected to rise in value to 30 million pounds. The youngster who has been touted to leave the club is James Justin, whose value could skyrocket to 30 million pounds. Timothy Castagne is valued at around 35 million pounds. Another player whose value has risen is Wous Faet, who is valued at around 30 million pounds.

Brazilian Tete is also rated at around 35 to 40 million pounds in value. The Gambian goal poacher Patson Daka is valued at 25 to 30 million pounds. Kelechi Iheanacho is valued at around 17 to 20 million pounds. Players who are valued from 15 to 10 million pounds are as follows;

Kaglar Soyunchu

Daniel Amartey

Ricarddo Periera

Luke Thomas

Victor Ktristiansen

Denis Praet

Janick Vestergard

Harry Southar
