With a 4-1 victory at Leeds, Tottenham's temporary manager finished the campaign.

During his second stint as Tottenham's interim manager, Ryan Mason praised the "great job" he and his coaching staff have done.

Tottenham ended their Premier League campaign with a decisive 4-1 victory at Leeds, who were relegated, however they were unable to secure a playoff spot for the first time since 2008-09.

Mason stated: "I would hope and expect that everyone inside of our training facility understands who I am, who my team is, and what we stand for when I leave on my summer vacation.

"I'm hoping and anticipating that you and everyone else will notice that as well. I'm confident in the work we've done. I genuinely do.

In Mason's first game back in command, Tottenham battled back from a 2-0 deficit to draw 2-2 with Manchester United at home. Since then, they have won two and lost three of their past five games.

With six games left, the former Spurs player, 31, took over for Christian Stellini, who had served as interim manager since Jose Mourinho's dismissal in 2021.

Tottenham fired Antonio Conte towards the end of March, and although though they were fourth in the standings at the time, they had already lost all of their cup games, and their weary supporters had become weary of the way their team was performing.

Mason added, "The circumstances were very difficult," and he recommended the team to pick their next managerial hire carefully.

"I believe it would have been difficult for anyone in the world to play six games after what had transpired and the predicament we were in.

Additionally, the fact that it is temporary makes it more difficult because there is uncertainty.

"But we've stayed true to our principles, I think we've made a slight transition in a short period of time, and the players have responded, they've given us everything, and ultimately that's all I can ask," said the coach.

Mason has urged the team to regain their identity over his six games in charge and believes it is the most important component as they move forward with their hunt for a new manager.

"Having an identity, knowing who you are and who you want to be, and sticking to that is the most important thing for any club in world football," he stated.
