Sofascore's Premier League Team of the Season includes Thiago Silva and James Tarkowski
Sofascore's XI of the season featured some surprising names including Chelsea's Thiago Silva and Everton's James Tarkowski.
The 2022/23 season has officially started with Manchester City winning 3 consecutive championships after pushing Arsenal to first place.
Manchester United and Newcastle United finished in the top four, qualifying for next season's Champions League, while Southampton, Leeds United and Leicester City dropped out of the Championship top flight.

Everton narrowly survived to beat Bournemouth 1-0 at Goodison Park on the final day of the season to claim their Premier League status. Abdoulaye Doucoure scored the only goal of the game as Sean Dyche tried to keep the Toffees in place.
Despite their struggles this season, Tarkowski remains in Sofascore's Team of the Year. Furthermore, he joined Silva despite Chelsea having had a miserable campaign. The Brazilian defender has played 26 games this season as the Stamford Bridge team conceded 47 goals, placing them in 12th place.

Manchester City's Jack Grealish and Kevin De Bruyne, the most highly regarded in the typical squad, feature in midfield.
Man United's Bruno Fernandes, Arsenal's Martin Odegaard and Newcastle's Kieran Trippier make up Sofascore's midfield.

Erling Haaland and Harry Kane are listed at the top. The Norwegian phenomenon broke 36 goals as he won the Premier League Golden Boot award. As for the Tottenham striker, he has scored 30 goals in the league.
