By defeating Bournemouth on the final day of the Premier League season, the Toffees avoided relegation.

Alan Stubbs, a former captain of Everton, said that the club's victory over relegation to the Premier League on Sunday left him feeling both angry and relieved, and he has demanded "major changes from boardroom level down."

Abdoulaye Doucoure's spectacular 57th-minute goal gave the Toffees a 1-0 victory over Bournemouth on the final day of the season, ensuring their safety while relegating Leicester and Leeds in the process.

Stubbs stated on BBC Radio 5 Live that there are two emotions present: fury and relief.

"As an Everton supporter, watching that and going through the emotions you were, it was a terrible 90 minutes. The players performed admirably considering how difficult it is to play under pressure, and the manager (Sean Dyche) also deserves a lot of praise.

But now...Everton must make some significant adjustments at every level, starting with the board. It must take place.

Farhad Moshiri is the owner of Everton, and Stubbs said the following about him: "I have to applaud him in terms of he's invested in the club, but he's been really poorly advised by people on the board and probably people he's trusted in as well, and he has to take a step aside because he's not a football person so he shouldn't be getting involved in any football decisions.

People must be trusted to handle that; if he doesn't trust them, they shouldn't have been hired in the first place.

The owner must make those decisions because, if he doesn't, the hostility among the fan base will reach a boiling point. "(Chairman) Bill Kenwright, (chief executive) Denise Barrett-Baxendale, thank you very much but it's time to go because you've failed this football club, on and off the pitch.

"Everyone is anxiously awaiting the outcome of this to learn what will happen next. If there aren't any resignations announced by Everton today, I'd be astonished. Everton needs to undergo significant revisions in order to be rectified because it is currently broken.
