Bayern Munich could be about to get one of Borussia Dortmund's best players once again.

In recent years, the ruthless Bavarians have used Mario Gotze, Mats Hummels and Robert Lewandowski, greatly weakening their opponents.

Dortmund returned to Bayern by signing defender Niklas Sule, securing the giant defender's services on a free transfer in the summer of 2022.

But Bayern look set to repeat their attacks on Dortmund just days after helping them win the Bundesliga title in a dramatic final that is coming to an end.

Jamal Musiala's 89th-minute goal for Bayern in Cologne claimed their 11th league title on goal difference, breaking Dortmund's heart after a 2-2 draw against Mainz. And Bayern plan to rub salt in the wound by trying to lure Raphael Guerrero to the club. According to Florian Plettenberg, the left-back is attracting the interest of the defending champions and the first discussions between the two sides are "positive".

They said he wanted to move because he was happy in Germany and wanted to continue playing in the Bundesliga.

The player is aware of Bayern's interest. Please understand that he can very well envision joining Bayern because he wants to continue in Germany. Bayern want him as revealed. The first exchanges were very positive.

Guerrero has spoken to his Dortmund teammates about Bayern's interest and he also has a strong relationship with Bayern coach Thomas Tuchel, whom he worked with while coaching BVB.

Guerrero scored in his final game for Dortmund on Saturday, after announcing he was leaving on a free transfer.

He wrote: “After 7 unbelievable years, it is time for me to say goodbye to you with infinite sadness. “The memories I have here have taught me a lot about myself on the pitch but also helped me to know what I really like about football.

“I have always been myself while learning and improving here and I will never forget the love I have received from my fans and teammates over the past seven years.

He made 224 appearances, scored 40 goals and won the German Cup twice.
