Erik ten Hag's first season in the Premier League is sure to be memorable, whether or not his Manchester United side win the FA Cup final. However, he will be keen to cement his ranking so his team can win the title next season.
Goalie:
David De Gea, DIOGO COSTA
With Dean Henderson on the verge of being sold, Ten Hag made it a priority to sign a new goalkeeper. Porto goalkeeper Diogo Costa has been repeatedly seen as David De Gea's long-term successor and the Portugal international could be signed this summer before his worth rises even higher.
Defender:
Lisandro Martinez, Tyrell Malacia, Luke Shaw, Raphael Varane, Diogo Dalot, JEREMIE FRIMPONG, KIM-MIN JAE, JURRIEN TIMBER
Ten Hag's defensive rebuild is far from complete, with Harry Maguire and Victor Lindelof both being sold as soon as possible. Bayer Leverkusen star Jeremie Frimpong is admired at the Theater of Dreams and provides another skill set for Aaron Wan-Bissaka.
Strengthening the center of the defence is also important for United and they have been linked with Napoli stars Kim Min-jae and Ajax's Jurrien Timber - both of which will offer alternatives when Raphael Varane is increasingly prone to injuries.
Midfielder:
Bruno Fernandes, Christian Eriksen, Casemiro, MASON MOUNT, DECLAN RICE, Kobbie Mainoo
With Marcel Sabitzer not set to move to United for long and Fred and Scott McTominay attracting interest, at least two signings are needed in midfield. Mason Mount is said to be keen on a move to the Red Devils after contract talks with Chelsea broke down.
Declan Rice is also a top target for United and has long been admired, although Arsenal are in a vital position to secure his signature. Brighton midfielder Moises Caicedo could be a replacement for the England international, although he won't come cheap.
Ten Hag hopes to sign two strikers this summer:
a 9th pick and a younger option will be developed. Harry Kane and Victor Osimhen are the main contenders for United to pursue this summer despite their hefty price tag. Atalanta star Rasmus Hojlund, 20, is also on the shortlist and could be signed in the hopes of becoming a long-term star at the club and a move to promising talent could be on the cards. sponsor by selling his 'Anthony Martial'.
