Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta could have a revamped squad from the start of next season as Express Sport reviews the club's summer plans.

Arsenal will aim to build on their impressive Premier League season with a number of smart signings this summer. Mikel Arteta will also be looking to move a bunch of players that are no longer in his plans. Express Sport take a look at where Arsenal's squad can stand at the start of their new campaign in August after five signings and 11 departures.

Guard:

Ramsdale, Turner, Huh

Aaron Ramsdale recently signed a new long-term contract and will remain the club's No. Matt Turner has been restricted from attending cup football during his first year in England and he will have to do so next season.

Karl Hein is the third-choice goalscorer and could be between him and Arthur Okonkwo for that spot next season. Alex Runarsson has been loaned out and could be ready to leave permanently this summer.

Defender:

White, Gabriel, Saliba, Kiwior, Tomiyasu, BOEY, GUEHI, Zinchenko, Tavares

Kieran Tierney will most likely leave this summer. He has only started five games this season and Newcastle are very interested. Rob Holding may also be running out of time at the club. Arteta will look to consolidate his options at right-back.

Crystal Palace star Marc Guehi is a target for the Gunners and he could replace Holding in the squad. Galtasaray's Sacha Boey is also linked with a move to Arsenal and could strengthen options at right-back.

Cedric Soares is likely to leave as Boey's arrival will make his presence all the more difficult. Meanwhile, Pablo Mari will join Monza on a permanent deal once his clause is activated and Auston Trusty could leave after an impressive season at Birmingham.

Midfielder:

Partey, RICE, CAICEDO, Odegaard, Smith Rowe, Jorginho, Vieira, Elneny

Declan Rice is Arsenal's top target this summer. Arteta could break the club's transfer record by splashing out more than £100m on the England star.

Arteta also wants Moises Caicedo after failing to sign the Brighton star in January. Brighton know they may have to sell but it remains to be seen if Arsenal can afford him and Rice. Granit Xhaka is about to join Bayer Leverkusen. He scored a brace in his final game for Arsenal on Sunday.

Ainsley Maitland-Niles has confirmed his departure this summer. Albert Sambi Lokonga could also leave after failing to loan him out at Palace.

The attacker:

Jesus, Nketiah, Martinelli, Trossard, Saka, DIABY, Nelson

Arteta wants to sign a right winger who can compete and support Bukayo Saka. Moussa Diaby will be expensive but can play on both flanks and is a reported target.

This could see record signing Nicolas Pepe leave after a season on loan at Nice. Another player who has spent a year on loan is Folarin Balogun.

But he is keen to play regular football again next season and has interest from AC Milan. Arteta can count on Gabriel Jesus and Eddie Nketiah as attacking options, with Gabriel Martinelli and Leandro Trossard likely to have the upper hand.
