Newcastle United's Anthony Gordon (36.61 km/h) and Liverpool's Darwin Nunez (36.53 km/h) are in the top five.

One Twitter user wrote:

"Still fast at 33. Compete with these young men."

A second tweet:

"At 33...he's crazy."

The third added:

"This Mudryk hit that pace in about 12 seconds on his Anfield debut and then competed for the rest of the season."

The fourth said:

"Walker is at least 10 years older than anyone else on this list."

Another person referring to the 2022 World Cup said:

"Mbappe got ahead of a guy at 37.31km/h. Wow."

Walker enjoyed another brilliant season but was forced to weather criticism from Pep Guardiola, who questioned whether he could fit into his squad.

The England international was later dropped from the squad despite regaining his place following Nathan Ake's injury.

On the criticism he faced from Guardiola, he said:

“Does it hurt? Of course he did. I can't lie and say it doesn't hurt. You start to doubt yourself.

"Sometimes you don't always agree with certain views in football, but what he has done for me and for Man City over the last six years has been amazing.

“He was my boss and I was one of the captains. I have to make sure that my frustrations don't show up in the team."
