Kane is believed to be determined to chase down Alan Shearer's Premier League goalscoring record of 260, with his final season brace against Leeds moving him 48 away from the haul.

United are viewed as Kane's only likely option this summer, with champions Man City and Liverpool not in the market for a forward and his Spurs connections preventing a possible move to Arsenal or Chelsea.

Kane is reportedly prepared to stay at Tottenham for the final year of his contract should a deal not be agreed, before potentially leaving the club on a free next summer.
