Arsenal have reportedly made a 'lucrative offer' for talented 18-year-old Ivan Fresneda - but will find competition for his signature from Borussia Dortmund.

The Spanish right-back has impressed in his debut LaLiga season for Real Valladolid, despite the club's perilous state in the relegation zone with just one game remaining.

Fresneda has attracted interest from across Europe - with Bild reporting that Arsenal have made a 'lucrative offer' to bring the teenager to London.

However, the defender is also of keen interest to Borussia Dortmund, who will be able to make their own impressive counter-offer imminently.

Jude Bellingham is set to confirm a £100m move from Dortmund to Real Madrid in the coming days - and the German giants are planning to spend the cash on a number of new players.

For most of last season, Ben White was Mikel Arteta's only option in the right-back position

Bild also believe that the Bundesliga side will nab Edson Alvarez from Ajax, and Ramy Bensebaini from Gladbach. 

Mikel Arteta's Arsenal are set for a big transfer window, as they look to strengthen ahead of Champions League football, and another tilt at the Premier League title after finishing five points behind Manchester City this season.

After the final game of the season, Arteta told reporters: 'we have to be next season much better.'

Their summer purchasing could begin with Fresneda. A switch was rumoured in January, but did not materialise, and now it could happen. 

Takehiro Tomiyasu was sidelined by injury for some time, causing Ben White to be Arsenal's sole right-back option for large chunks of the campaign.
