Former Arsenal star Lucas Torreira burst into tears after helping Galatasaray win the Turkish Super Lig.
The midfielder joined the Istanbul-based side last summer from the Gunners, with Torreira having no place in Mikel Arteta's plans at the Emirates Stadium. The Uruguayan has made 30 appearances in the Turkish top flight, 27 of which have been starts. That includes a 4-1 win over Ankaragücü on Tuesday night helping Galatasaray win their first Turkish championship in four years.
It was an emotional evening for Torreira as he celebrated his team's achievements, as he took a moment to pay tribute to his mother who died two years ago. He wore a T-shirt with a message in her memory during the celebration.
The midfielder then took a moment to sit on the bench and spend a private moment to himself that brought him to tears. His teammate Dries Mertens then went to comfort the emotional Torreira.
Torreira posted a picture of him on the bench on Instagram, along with a heartfelt message of thanks to fans and Galatasaray players. He also added a line paying tribute to his mother, who he hailed as his "biggest fan".
