The Staggies, who were 11th in the standings, will play Partick Thistle in the opening leg of their play-off match on Thursday at Firhill.
As he works to keep Ross County in the Premiership, Malky Mackay feels more responsibility than pressure.
The Staggies placed 11th in the standings and will play Partick Thistle in the first leg of their play-off match on Thursday night at Firhill. The second leg will take place on Sunday in Dingwall.
When asked if the task at hand put any pressure on him, County manager Mackay responded to Sky Sports Scotland: "Not pressure, responsibility.
"Ever since I took over the position, I have been responsible.
"I have obligations to the residents of the Highlands, Ross County, the owner, chief executive, and my staff, but every football manager has obligations every time he signs a contract with a football club.
"You receive everything from me because you gave me the opportunity to manage your football team, and it is my duty to make sure I do everything to the best of the football team, which is unquestionably what I have done my entire career.
"I have a lot of responsibility, but football managers have to do that," he continued.
"That is something that a manager, not a coach, would do. pressure, then? No. Responsibility? Of course.
When attempting to contain the prolific Thistle, who have scored 16 goals in their last four play-off matches and who defeated Ayr United 8-0 on aggregate in the semifinal match, Mackay will rely on Ross County's Premiership expertise.
"We treat Partick Thistle the same way we treat every other team," he stated.
"We assess their advantages and disadvantages. We have looked at how the opposition can harm them and how they can harm the opposition.
"Considering we have played against the 11 Premiership teams three or four times this season, that just goes into the same preparation we would do for any other team.
