Following Benjamin Pavard's declaration that he wanted to leave Bayern Munich, Manchester United is understood to have spoken with his agents.
The Bundesliga winners' Pavard has one year left on his contract, but he told the team earlier this week that he was considering taking on a fresh challenge in England, Italy, or Spain.
As the transfer window opens across Europe, a number of the continent's biggest teams are planning to investigate the issue in the ensuing days and weeks. Manchester City and Inter, who placed second and third in the Champions League, have their own interests, and Real Madrid and Barcelona are prepared to start negotiations after the Spanish league season is over.
Liverpool and Bayern have been in discussions about Ryan Gravenberch possibly moving to Anfield. Liverpool is also interested in 27-year-old Pavard. In April, 90min first made known that a number of the top teams in Europe were interested in Pavard's predicament.
The aforementioned teams have been informed of a deal that offers good value for the money, with Bayern charging roughly €30 million to sell Pavard. Given that the player has shown a wish to leave, they are willing to sell, and they also want to earn money to reinvest in the team; Bayern are searching for a new first-choice striker and have expressed interest in Declan Rice of West Ham.
Meanwhile, United is searching for coverage at right-back and center-back at a fair price. Although Pavard would probably be a less expensive option than Kim Min-jae and Jurrien Timber, 90min has already reported on their interest in both players from Napoli and Ajax.
The former Lille and Stuttgart defender has been considering leaving Bayern for a while, even before Thomas Tuchel took over as Julian Nagelsmann's successor. He considers that this is the ideal time to relocate to another European "giant" and has expressed his wish.
There are several choices to take into consideration, and Pavard's team is actively evaluating them. Late last year, the player expressed interest in relocating to Italy to team up with Olivier Giroud at Milan.
