Despite not having trained this week, Celtic striker Kyogo Furuhashi remains "bullish" about his chances of making the Scottish Cup final.
The Japanese international left last Saturday's 5-0 victory over Aberdeen with a leg injury after losing the 50/50 challenge with Dons goalkeeper Kelle Roos.
The 28-year-old has a stellar record in cup finals, including match-winning doubles in the League Cup in each of his two seasons with Celtic. He has scored 33 goals this season and won all three of Scotland's player of the year accolades.
"Kyogo is progressing," remarked the boss, Ange Postecoglou. He is still untrained. He will be deployed there tomorrow (Friday), and his performance will be monitored.
He always has been, but he's still quite confident about playing, so we'll just have to wait and see how he does.He will help us a little bit in our direction. In the past, we have done that. He has done so on a few occasions, whether it was with his shoulder or when he entered the League Cup final last year with a hamstring that hadn't fully recovered and managed to score twice.
So I'll follow his lead. He has a pretty powerful mind, so we will put him in there if he gives us the go-ahead.
Australia midfielder Aaron Mooy, who has been dealing with a back issue recently, is the only definite absence.
"(Alistair) Johnston is OK; he has trained all week," said Postecoglou. "Sead) Haksabanovic is back in, so he is also available. The only significant omission is Aaron Mooy.
When you consider having a quadruple treble in one period of time, it's rather amazing.
You might witness it over a period of 30 or 40 years, but not in such a brief amount of time.
We have a fantastic opportunity to bring another one.
It is amazing that we have had so many since 2016/17 when you consider that during the League Cup's inception in 1946/47 and 2000/01, we only won three trebles.
