Alistair Johnston, a defender for Celtic, is sure that the team won't be derailed by management rumors prior to the Scottish Cup final.
Johnston acknowledges that it is impossible to avoid hearing about Tottenham's purported interest in Ange Postecoglou, but the manager and captain Callum McGregor in particular will not let it become a distraction.
The right-back, who has been cleared to play against Inverness on Saturday at Hampden, said: "Trust me, we all hear the noise. We have Sky Sports on, and it looks like it is the only story that is now being covered. For us, though, it starts at the top because neither Cal nor the gaffer allow any noise to enter.
"This ship is heading directly toward that cup final, where it needs to be."We simply don't allow that sort of thing to enter the structure because it could make the men's heads turn.
"That's really significant, and I believe it demonstrates why this club has achieved such success—we don't let players be affected by that kind of stuff. "When someone is distracted or something is going on, you can always tell since they act differently or don't seem to be fully engaged. But during my time here, it has never at all been the case. Everyone continued to practice as hard as they could even while the guys were departing, which did happen throughout that January window.
"I thought that was really great, but as always, that starts at the top. You are not permitted to have a wandering eye because if you do, you will be discovered and since this squad is so large, you will be kicked out of the squad immediately. We have that, which I consider to be really unique.Although there is a lot of discussion, we are only concerned with this cup final and are not troubled by it.
The international player for Canada has not felt the need for any players at Celtic Park to receive assurances regarding Postecoglou's future.
