Evan Ferguson names Champions League Team of the Year and his ultimate prediction
The 18-year-old Irishman, Evan Ferguson, will play in Europe next season for Brighton. The Seagulls qualified for the Europa League after finishing sixth in the Premier League, following a stellar campaign at the tournament.
Ferguson attended a star-studded Champions League (UCL) fan event hosted by LiveScore in Dublin on Tuesday, where he discussed Europa League qualifying and revealed who was in the lineup. his UCL 2023 team of the season.
At the event, Ferguson revealed the team he thinks will win this year's Champions League final between Manchester City and Inter Milan.
The Irish striker believes that Manchester City will continue to lift the championship trophy against Italian rivals. "They might have a special moment from De Bruyne who can turn it on or off, or Bernardo Silva. Then, with the squad depth they have, they can only bring in Mahrez or Phil Foden. I think they've just got the best squad and I think they'll do it tonight,'" Ferguson said.
Here's Evan Ferguson's Team of the Season.

Goalkeeper - Thibaut Courtois (Real Madrid)
Courtois has enjoyed a strong Champions League campaign with Real Madrid semi-finalists. He kept a clean sheet in five of the ten games he played for Spain. He made a total of 42 saves in the league, the second-highest number only behind Inter Milan's Onana, who made 45 saves but played two more games than Courtois.

Left-back - Kyle Walker (Manchester City)
Although Walker has only played four games for his team this season, his impressive performance against Vincius Jnior in the semi-finals is perhaps the reason Ferguson chose him at right-back. Vincius Jnior, who had a successful tournament and ran around defenders throughout the tournament, only tried to dribble twice against Walker in the semi-final, both unsuccessfully. Jnior also lost the ball 17 times in the game, the most of any Madrid player that night.
Silva has been a mainstay in Chelsea's defense this season, so it's not surprising that he's featured in Ferguson's squad. Silva was Chelsea's best player in recovering the ball and clearing the ball from their defence. Silva's experience, composure and calm head in defence make him one of the best defenders in the league this season.
Center-back - Antonio Rudiger (Real Madrid)
Rudiger may be overlooked by many when it comes to discussing their league's best players, but Evan Ferguson admits the difficult change Rudiger makes in every game, especially against Haaland in first leg of the final.
Right-back - Theo Hernandez (AC Milan)
Hernandez has had a great campaign for AC Milan. He excelled in both defense and attack for the Italian giants, wreaking havoc on the flanks, whether it was a superb tackle or breaking the flank and plunging in for a perfectly targeted cross.
Midfielder - Bernardo Silva (Manchester City)
Bernardo Silva has had a stellar season for Manchester, including the Champions League. He scored three goals and an assist for the team to lift the championship trophy for the first time. Not only is he prolific offensively, but he is also one of his main ball distributors.
