Mikel Arteta's dream Arsenal transfers revealed as Edu plots £203m summer transfer plans .

Arsenal's involvement in the upcoming summer transfer window seems inevitable, as the club aims to build on their impressive 2022/23 Premier League season, where they finished in second place. Mikel Arteta and Edu, the club's manager and technical director respectively, have likely already identified the positions that require reinforcement and the players they wish to bring in. Departures from the squad are also expected, with Granit Xhaka being close to finalizing a move to Bayer Leverkusen in a deal worth £13 million.

In addition to Xhaka, senior players Kieran Tierney and Folarin Balogun are also expected to leave Arsenal in search of more regular playing time. The combined sales of these three players could generate at least £60 million, providing Arteta with additional funds on top of the £180 million budget already allocated by owner Stan Kroenke.

If all goes according to plan, Arsenal could enter the 2023/24 season with four significant signings, having spent over £200 million to elevate the club to the next level. Fabrizio Romano, speaking on his Here We Go podcast, revealed the areas Arteta intends to strengthen, stating that Arsenal aims to sign two midfielders, including their priority target Declan Rice, as well as a new fullback and a new center-back.

Rice has been a long-standing target for Arsenal, and while Bayern Munich is also interested, the advantage currently seems to lie with the Gunners. Arsenal has reportedly considered an opening offer of £92 million, but West Ham United is holding out for a deal closer to £120 million. Discussions regarding the transfer are expected to take place after West Ham's Europa Conference League final on June 7.

In defense, Arsenal's need for adequate cover was exposed by William Saliba's injury, with Rob Holding proving to be out of his depth after stepping in during Saliba's absence. Therefore, Arteta is keen to bolster their defensive options, and Crystal Palace's Marc Guehi is on the Spaniard's wishlist. Tottenham Hotspur has also expressed interest in Guehi, but Crystal Palace is reluctant to let the former Chelsea player leave and has set an asking price of £50 million. Another defender, Edmond Tapsoba from Bayer Leverkusen, has also been considered by Arsenal.

With significant funds available and a clear plan to strengthen the squad, Arsenal is determined to secure the necessary signings to enhance their chances of success in the upcoming season.
