Arsenal are expected to stay busy during the summer transfer window as Mikel Arteta tries to build an impressive campaign at the Emirates Stadium and new signings could emerge on the first day of next season.
Arsenal have been contacted by a number of stars ahead of the 2023/24 season.
The Gunners had a brilliant campaign last season before finishing second under Mikel Arteta. While there is some disappointment as their long wait for the Premier League title is far from over, there is certainly some optimism heading into next season.
This continues to happen with some of the brightest names Arsenal contacted before the transfer window opened. Check out the latest rumors and guess what the squad will look like on the first day of next season:
After another impressive season with 14 clean sheets in the Premier League, Aaron Ramsdale looks set to keep his place in the squad. He also recently signed a new deal in North London, so it looks like work will be locked in for the foreseeable future.
The defense in front of him should have a somewhat familiar feel. Oleksandr Zinchenko will line up at left-back against Kieran Tierney, while Gabriel Magalhaes will represent one half of an impressive centre-back partnership.
William Saliba is also expected to remain at the heart of the Gunners' defence despite his link to PSG and ongoing injury problems. There will be a slight modification next to it though. weapon
Arsenal's starting XI could be very different next season
In a dream world, Arsenal would hit Manchester City again for Portuguese defender Joao Cancelo. The Gunners have been linked with a move with Bayern Munich, who are unwilling to sign him permanently after a loan spell.
A two-time PFA Premier League XI of the year would be a huge step forward for Ben White at right-back and he will therefore automatically take his place.
Business will continue in earnest in the heart of midfield. Granit Xhaka is currently preparing to join German side Bayer Leverkusen while Thomas Partey has not reached the heights expected. This could see two new midfielders arrive in north London. Brighton boss Roberto De Zerbi has revealed that former Gunners target Moises Caicedo could leave the club this summer and Arsenal are likely to renew their interest after being denied a move this season. this winter.
Declan Rice is also Arteta's long-term goal. It may be difficult to sign him given West Ham's huge asking price and interest from Bayern Munich, but there will be hope he can assemble a formidable midfielder alongside Caicedo.
Captain Martin Odegaard will complete the squad after a stellar campaign earned him the first Young Player and Player of the Season nominations. Speaking of nominations, Arsenal academy graduate Bukayo Saka seems certain to keep his place ahead of next season.
The 21-year-old scored 14 goals and 11 assists in the Premier League last season and like Ramsdale, he has committed his future to the Gunners with a new contract. Gabriel Martinelli seems certain to keep his place after the most prolific season of his career.
While Arsenal fans may want to see compatriot Gabriel Jesus playing alongside him, it has been suggested that the Gunners may be looking for another striker. An old transfer target can prove very useful on this front. The Telegraph suggested that Roma could be forced to sell Tammy Abraham to comply with UEFA's FFP guidelines. He is a player
