ARTETA'S DREAM ARSENAL XI WITH FOUR NEW SIGNINGS ON FIRST DAY OF NEXT SEASON

Arsenal have already been linked with a number of stars ahead of the 2023/24 season.

The Gunners enjoyed a brilliant campaign last term as they finished second under Mikel Arteta. Whilst there was some disappointment at not ending their long wait for a Premier League crown, there is certainly some optimism heading into next season.

After another impressive campaign in which he secured 14 Premier League clean sheets, Aaron Ramsdale appears highly likely to keep his spot in the side. He has also recently penned a new deal in North London so seems likely to have the position locked down for the foreseeable future.

The defence in front of him should have somewhat of a familiar feel to it. Oleksandr Zinchenko will be stationed at left-back ahead of Kieran Tierney, whilst Gabriel Magalhaes will represent one-half of an impressive centre-back partnership.

William Saliba should also retain his position at the heart of the Gunners' defence despite links with PSG and his persistent injury problems. There will be one slight alteration next to him though.

Arsenal's starting XI could look very different next season

In a dream world, Arsenal would raid Manchester City once more for Portuguese defender Joao Cancelo. The Gunners have already been linked with a move with Bayern Munich not keen to sign him on a permanent basis following a loan.

The two-time PFA Premier League Team of the Year inclusion would represent a huge upgrade on Ben White at right-back so would understandably take his spot.

The business would continue in earnest in the heart of midfield . Granit Xhaka is currently on the verge of a move to German side Bayer Leverkusen, whilst Thomas Partey has failed to hit the heights expected of him.

That could see two new midfielders arrive in North London. Brighton boss Roberto De Zerbi has already revealed that former Gunners' target Moises Caicedo could leave the club the summer and Arsenal could potentially renew their interest having had a move turned down in the winter.

Declan Rice is also a long-term target of Arteta. It might be difficult to sign him considering West Ham 's huge asking price and interest from Bayern Munich but there will be hope that he can assemble a formidable midfield with Caicedo.

Captain Martin Odegaard will round off the team after a stellar campaign that saw him nominated for the Premier Young Player and Player of the Season. Speaking of nominations, Arsenal academy graduate Bukayo Saka appears sure to keep his place ahead of next season.

The 21-year-old scored 14 goals and notched 11 assists in the Premier League last term and like Ramsdale, has committed his future to the Gunners with a new deal. Gabriel Martinelli seems sure to also retain his place after the most prolific season of his career.

Whilst Arsenal fans might want to see his compatriot Gabriel Jesus play alongside him, there have been suggestions that the Gunners could look for another striker. A former transfer target could come in very useful on that front.

The Telegraph suggest that Roma may be forced to sell Tammy Abraham to get in line with UEFA's FFP guidelines. He is a player that has been of interest to the Gunners in the past and a fresh move would not be a huge shock.
