Jack Grealish has played a central role in Manchester City's treble offer this season, justifying the huge 100m fee Pep Guardiola has paid him in 2021.
Jack Grealish's former mentor, Tim Sherwood, has suggested that Manchester City's ace will deliver another inspirational performance in the FA Cup after backing his decision to turn down Manchester United.
Sherwood was Aston Villa's manager when the ace striker Grealish made his debut in April 2015 at the age of 19. His faith in the young star was well rewarded as the then-teenager. inspired Villa to safety and into the FA Cup final with a dazzling display against Liverpool. .
Sherwood is delighted to see Grealish, 27, get better at City this term after taking time to adapt last season following a record 100million move in 2021 from Villa.
But Grealish has played a key role this season in a second consecutive league title for Pep Guardiola's side with five goals and seven assists. Sherwood now expects Grealish to play a key role in City's treble-winning run against Manchester United in the FA Cup final and Inter Milan in the Champions League final. Sherwood, who managed Villa from February 2015 to October 2015, said:
"It's a big prize, but if someone could handle it, it would be someone like Jack Grealish. The bigger the pressure and the bigger the opportunity, the bigger it is.
"I discovered that when he was young. Give him a chance on a big stage in a pressurized environment, and he will come forward and be someone you can trust. He was made for it and almost born for it. I think his development at Man City has been gradual, but now he's one of the first names on the team's roster.
"I'd be surprised if he didn't make the next two Cup finals. Jack is a Mensa footballer - there aren't many brighter players than him. I think he's proven it. by realizing that 'He has to put his head down, listen to Pep and his teammates, with so many leaders among them, and improve. Guardiola is reaping the benefits of spending time with Jack.

Grealish celebrates his first Villa goal with owner Tim Sherwood
Grealish's development at boyhood club Villa has attracted great interest from Manchester United. But Sherwood thinks Grealish has made the right decision in choosing rivals Man City, who are facing their neighbors for the first time in an FA Cup final.
He added:
Looks like he's about to hit the treble. How can you say it wasn't the right decision. United is a big football club and it would be good if he left. I think that's what they need, someone like him.
But once you sit in front of Guardiola and Txiki Begiristain, they sell you the project and game over. If you are an attacking player anywhere in the world, why wouldn't you want to play for Pep Guardiola? You get paid to be mentored by the best people in the world. Jack knows what he's doing and that's why Pep took him there. "I've heard other pundits say he kicks too much or gets fouled too much. But he does it for a reason.
