Alexis Mac Allister, a midfielder for Brighton & Hove Albion who won the World Cup for Argentina, is reportedly close to joining Liverpool, according to his cousin.

This summer, the Reds want to make significant changes to their midfield. They stopped trying to sign Jude Bellingham, who was headed to Real Madrid, in April and are now concentrating on adding two to three fresh players to that position.

Liverpool's interest in Mac Allister has been well-documented by 90min, and they are sure that a trade will be completed in the coming weeks.

Liverpool supporters have at least been given some comfort that a deal will soon be completed from a member of the 24-year-old's family, but their pursuit of the player is scarcely a secret.

An agreement is 'near,' according to Mac Allister's cousin Luciano Guaycochea, who verified this in an interview with Astro Arena.

I'm unable to disclose where he will play, but I believe that everyone is aware that it will be close to Liverpool, he remarked.

It's a big team, but I hope he can play well wherever he goes.

Guaycochea, who has had a colorful journeyman career, has was named captain of the Malay team Perak.

Although he never played for the senior team, the midfielder progressed through the Boca Juniors ranks. He made his debut while on loan with TKI Tavsanli Linyitspor of Turkey's lower league before returning to Argentina with General Belgrano de Santa Rosa.

After a little over a year in Venezuela with Zulia, he briefly played for Cucuta Deportivo and Alianza Petrolera in Colombia.

Before joining his current club in Malaysia in June 2022, Guaycochea played for Deportivo Moron for a season in Argentina's second division.

According to 90min, Liverpool and Brighton midfielder Alexis MacAllister are close to signing a contract.

Most of the Premier League's top are pursuing Mac Allister, who was instrumental in Argentina's World Cup victory, and he is anticipated to leave this summer, according to Brighton manager Roberto De Zerbi, who recently acknowledged that the 24-year-old has likely played his final match for the club.
