Casemiro insists that he and Bruno Fernandes, a colleague at Manchester United, get along great and denies ever having a falling out with him.
Since moving to Old Trafford in January 2020, Fernandes has established himself as one of Europe's top midfielders, although his stroppy demeanor and behavior have occasionally ruffled feathers.
He received particular criticism from former Manchester United players Roy Keane and Gary Neville for his participation and demeanor during March's 7-0 hammering at rivals Liverpool.
Sometimes it seems like Fernandes' teammates are at odds with him as well; Casemiro and the Portugal international can be seen arguing after victories against Aston Villa (1-0) in April and Newcastle United (2-0) in the Carabao Cup finals, respectively.
However, when speaking to the Guardian before of Saturday's FA Cup final against Manchester City, Casemiro was eager to dismiss claims that he and Fernandes do not get along well, asserting the exact contrary.
Bruno was lucky to be of great assistance to me when I first arrived because of the language, Casemiro stated.
He was always fantastic and gave me a lot of club knowledge. Bruno and I get along a lot, therefore our friendship is great.
He is one of the club's most crucial players, and everyone recognizes what a wonderful player he is, I can say that with absolute certainty. But I'll be honest with you—and I tell him this—I have high expectations for him. So I tell him this when he blows a chance or when one of his passes goes wrong. Even though we constantly expect perfection from him, these are just regular chats. I've never argued with Bruno; in fact, the reverse has been true.
It's a pleasure to play with him since, in the end, he's the one that motivates the group and supports us the most. If you will, the team's motor.
