Sergio Ramos has declared that when his contract with Paris Saint-Germain expires this summer, he will quit the club.
The seasoned center-back moved to Paris Saint-Germain on a free transfer from Real Madrid and is set to make his 58th game for the French team on Saturday against Clermont Foot.
When Ramos was absent from a graphic promoting PSG's preseason tour to Japan, it sparked concerns about his future at the club. Later on Friday, it was made official that the 37-year-old Spaniard would be leaving the team soon.
For the past two years, wearing the Red and Blue shirt has been a tremendous experience, according to Ramos. "I'd want to thank you everyone for your love and support during my fantastic journey in Paris. "Allez Paris!"
Later, Ramos added on Twitter: "Tomorrow will be a great day, tomorrow I'll bid PSG farewell and say goodbye to another chapter of my life.
I'm not sure how many cities can make you feel at home, but PSG, its supporters, and Paris have unquestionably been one of them for me.
"We would like to express our tremendous gratitude to Sergio Ramos for the two years he has spent with us," club president Nasser Al-Khelaifi continued.
"Having Sergio in Paris was an honor because of his leadership, teamwork, professionalism, and high level of expertise. He is a true football great. He has the warmest wishes of everyone at the club.
Uncertainty surrounds Ramos' precise future. According to reports, the seasoned defender was slated for a significant transfer to Saudi Arabia, maybe to join up with former Real Madrid teammate Cristiano Ronaldo at Al Nassr.
