Steven Gerrard has been named as an option for a Championship club looking for their next manager. Liverpool fans are sure to keep a close eye on his next move.
Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard.
Steven Gerrard has a decision to make about what he will do next. Since leaving Aston Villa, there has been much speculation about where his next chance might lie, but nothing concrete has materialized. However, now seems like the right time. The best time to change coaches is in the summer, when there is an opportunity to make transfers and reshape the squad, and there is a whole pre-season period to implement ideas.
Gerrard has not had a coaching job since leaving Villa Park in October, and if he intends to continue as a manager and try for promotion - maybe he will one day prove it. get his quality good enough to go to Anfield in a dream scenario – coming back sooner rather than later might be a good idea.
Unai Emery's job at Aston Villa didn't do much for Gerrard's reputation, but the work he did at Rangers was outstanding, winning a title and allowing a team to play beautiful football.
Prior to that, he helped the progression of a group of young Liverpool talent, including Curtis Jones, where he made a real difference to their development at Kirkby. However, his next move will be crucial to his coaching journey, and the real big question is where he might be.
According to The Telegraph, Gerrard and former Bournemouth manager Scott Parker (out of work since being sacked by Club Brugge) as well as Carlos Corberán, who plays for West Brom, are options that Leeds United are considering.
The Mirror today reports that Gerrard is open to leaving, which could see Leeds opt for the 'dream pairing' of Red Devils legend and former Elland Road hero Gary McAllister.

Wherever you are in the world - in the US, UK or beyond - you don't want to miss a thing. Leeds considered Gerrard when they sacked Jesse Marsch in March, opting instead for Javi Gracia, who was later replaced by Sam Allardyce, who after negotiations over the role next season would not last too long 4 matches.
However, now in the Championship, it will be an interesting project. Leeds should be one of the favorites to return to the Premier League, and has a good team at its core - although now relegated, that could change.
Gerrard, given the way things have gone at Aston Villa and the number of top managers in every area of ??the Premier League, may have to plunge to the second tier if he wants another job soon.
Especially, doing it with a team that has just fallen and needs to reset the defense, can be a good idea. With good support from the home team and good attacking players to build around, it could be the next logical step, with high-flying jobs perhaps out of reach.
