Six boys are being held by the Anambra State Police Command because they are accused of raping a 19- year- old girl in a group in the Anambra West Local Government Area of the state.
Ify Obinabo, the state commissioner for women and social welfare, confirmed the arrest and said that the victim had been saved. She also gave the names of the people who were caught after a video of them raping a teenager went viral.
The commissioner said that the suspects had been sent to the State Criminal and Investigation Department for further investigation and punishment.
The woman who was raped said that it happened when she went to her mother' s house in Oramaetiti. A group of boys attacked her, dragged her into a room, and took turns raping her, even though she begged them to stop. One of them filmed the act while they kept doing it.
The victim also said that after she was saved by friends who heard her scream for help, she was attacked by another group of boys on her way home. They made fun of her and made her pull her pants down so they could take them.
The person who was attacked said that she took off her trousers and gave them to the people who were threatening to kill her. When the victim' s parents talked about what happened, they said that their daughter was the third girl the suspects had raped and taken their trousers from. They also said that the victims usually die after a while.
The worried parents asked the government to take the situation seriously because their daughter' s life is in danger and they haven' t found her trousers yet.
