I'm not prepared to detail the reasons for my departure from Highly Spiritual – Lasmid.
Lasmid, a previous artist signed under the Highly Spiritual music record label, has stated that he is currently unwilling to elaborate on the circumstances that led to his choice to leave the label after a two-year period.
"I am not prepared to discuss the specific details at this moment," Lasmid mentioned during an interview with Kingdom FM.
Meanwhile, when questioned about the rationale behind his choice to depart, Lasmid firmly maintained that "there isn't any specific incident" and there's no underlying reason for his decision to part ways with the label.
In a prior interview, Kaywa, the head of Highly Spiritual, expressed his disappointment in Lasmid, stating, "Someone like Lasmid, after the extensive investment and efforts to elevate him to the next level, he opted to depart. If I were to discuss the investments, you would comprehend the depth. Lasmid is someone I hold in high regard, and I personally made considerable efforts to propel him forward. Even artists like Drew might accuse me of diverting funds to promote him, yet I continued because I recognized his potential."
Kaywa revealed that following the success of Lasmid's track "Friday Night," Lasmid showed a keen interest in extending their contract. Even though the agreement wasn't officially inked, an implicit understanding was reached.
However, Lasmid later had a change of heart and sought legal counsel. This ultimately resulted in what Kaywa referred to as unreasonable requests and the eventual dissolution of their partnership.
Kaywa is of the opinion that Lasmid's choice to depart from the label could have been swayed by his connections with other artists who potentially impacted his perspective. There might have been a perception that he had outgrown the label's scope.
