Arsenal transfer news: The Gunners have made a number of superb moves in the transfer window this year in a huge turnaround under Mikel Arteta

Declan Rice started life at Arsenal in impressive fashion this weekend with a fine all-round performance against Nottingham Forest.

The midfielder played the whole 90 minutes in Mikel Arteta side's 2-1 victory. Rice partnered Martin Odegaard and Kai Havertz in a midfield three, putting in a commanding display in his competitive debut for the club.

"It's very natural," he said. "You've seen him today, I don't know if it was after two minutes or after 10, but the way he's moving, the way he's coaching and integrating in that dressing room I think he's enjoying the position.

"He should have scored probably two goals today. So more of the same. He's not thinking, he's just acting and I'm really pleased with what he's done."

And following last season's business that saw the likes of Gabriel Jesus, Leandro Trossard and Oleksandr Zinchenko move to north London, there is a clear transfer policy in place that is reaping the rewards on the pitch.

Neville's words were echoed across the fanbase and concerns only increased after back-to-back defeats to Chelsea and Manchester City. However, the fortunes at the Emirates Stadium have changed and Rice's signing is another example of the club returning to the pinnacle of English football.

Signed for £105million in July, Arsenal fended off competition from Manchester City and Chelsea to bring the England midfielder to the club. And if there was any lurking uncertainty over the Gunners' policy in the market ahead of this summer, there won't be for much longer.

Pochettino confirms Chelsea transfer exit ahead of Liverpool clash

Chelsea transfer news: Kepa Arrizabalaga is set to make a move away from Chelsea, with Robert Sanchez taking his place in the side.

The Spanish international was seen as potential competition for Arrizabalaga when it came to the number one shirt, but he was unopposed in the first match of the season. Sanchez was handed his debut by Pochettino against Liverpool, given a chance to impress his new fans.

However, his compatriot was completely absent from the squad, with youngster Lucas Bergstrom taking the second goalkeeper slot on the bench. The head coach confirmed before the game that the decision was down to Arrizabalaga preparing a move away over the summer window.

When asked about the move ahead of the game, Pochettino said: "With Kepa it is something that has happened very quick and it is a situation that is correct [reports of move]. He has permission to explore a different situation and we will see what happens with that one over the next 24 to 48 hours."

When asked further on transfers, the manager added: "Our focus is on this game and the players that are involved today and of course we have big trust in Robert today. He is very new with us but he has the quality to come and play today."

It remains to be seen whether the Blues will dip into the market to add another goalkeeper to their ranks, but there's plenty of time left to make some moves.
